I put links in product descriptions and they don't work

I use the add link feature when typing out a product description and it's highlighted blue and looks like a link but when I publish it's no longer blue or a link and is unclickable.

Why offer this if it doesn't even work? I'm on my last straw with Squareup and it's BASIC functionality not working.

Don't even get me started with coupons not available in Canada.

Has square given up??

Great, it's only been 18 MONTHS since this post saying your team is working on it. There are SO MANY ANNOYING ISSUES WITH BASIC FUNCTIONALITY IN SQUARE that it really **bleep**es me off. Can't wait til I have the time to switch to another platform. Square, you suck

This is one of the many frustrating things I've found with Square. But I did find a solution - it's a little convoluted, but it works well 100% of the time. I'll go to a web browser and copy the page URL I want to link to. Then open a new document in Mac TextEdit. There I'll type out the text I want to use (ie "Download PDF"), then highlight the text and go to Edit>Add Link... and paste the URL into the Link Destination field and click OK. In the TextEdit document, the newly linked text will show as underlined. Right click on that text and "Copy" (not Copy Link), then paste into the Square description.

Thanks @FunBus ! This worked for me too. Note thought that if you want to bold the link, do that *after* pasting the link into the square item description field - you can click the link to edit it and disable "new tab" if wanted, and then the text formatting popup opens and you can bold it.

Also, this did NOT work for me in Notepad on Windows.
