Hi,

I’m trying to set up two separate items in my POS that both pull from the same physical stock of film, but Square won’t currently allow me to do it.

Here’s what I need:

Item 1: Kodak Gold exp – standard price (£8.99)
Item 2: Kodak Gold 24exp – bundle price (£7.50) that requires purchasing a Dev & Scan add-on at the same time.

Both items represent the same physical roll of film, so they both need to deduct from the same stock quantity.
However, Square does not allow two items to share the same SKU, and I cannot find any way to assign both items to a single shared stock pool or shared variation.

Because of this, I currently cannot offer a fixed bundle price with a required Dev & Scan add-on without breaking my stock accuracy.

What I need to know is:

  1. Is there a supported method in Square to let two separate items (with different prices and modifier rules) pull from the same stock count?

  2. If so, how do I correctly assign both items to the same stock inventory?

  3. If this is not possible anymore, what is the recommended way to create two separately priced items that still track the same physical stock?

My goal is simple:
Allow customers to buy Kodak Gold at full price or buy it at a bundle price that requires prepaying for Dev & Scan, while both options reduce the same stock.

Thanks,
David
