When adding items we are getting unable to add stock. Item edits were saved but cannot update stock. Check network connection and try again”. We checked network connection and it was fine.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with adding stock.
Are you adding this through your Dashboard on a computer? If so, which internet browser are you using?
The other option would be to clear the cache on your browser.
