How to turn off 'Most Popular' on Self Serve.

When navigating to our self serve site, we see the 'most popular' at the top. Is it possible to turn this off?

Hey @Dirky, thanks for your post! You should be able to turn this off. To do so, head to Website > Edit Site within your Square Online site overview, and click into the Order Online page.

 

From here, click into Item Lists. This is where you can edit and arrange your items.

Click Arrange and add items at the very top.

You'll see Most popular and Recent order. To turn these off, just hover next to them and you'll see a little toggle to switch from blue to grey.

Hi,

 

I'm trying to do the same as but when I click on 'Item List' it says I need to setup items as I don't have any in my library, despite importing them all (and their categories) from Square.

 

What am I doing wrong and why doesn't it recognise the existing items in my library?

Sorry to hear you're running into this @piggypub! If you've imported your items into Square, they are sync automatically to your Online site. There are a couple of things we can check:

  • Make sure your location type is set to Physical location within your Square Dashboard.
  • Go to Items > Site Items and mark all items as Available. You can learn more about bulk editing items within Square Online site here
  • Create a re-sync by going to Settings > Sync within your Square Online site, and toggle one of the option off and back on.

Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try to fix non-visible items. If you've exhausted all the troubleshooting steps and are still getting the same issue, please let me know! I can definitely have a further look into this.

Hi Tran,

 

Thanks for the tips but I don't think I explained myself properly.

 

The strange thing about this one is the items are all visible when scanning the QR on a mobile device but like I said in my previous post they aren't showing up on the 'Item List' section within site editing.

 

This means I can't setup category pages and turn off things like 'Most popular' etc.

 

Can you look into this further please?

Hey @piggypub, I haven't come across this before so I'm just looking into this with the ECOM specialists team to see how we can toggle the Most Popular section off. Once I have an update, I'll be sure to follow up on this thread here.

Hey @piggypub, I just want to follow up on this! Our team have found a way to disable the Most Popular section off for you so you shouldn't see this any longer.

 

From chatting with the team, the reason why items are not coming up in the site editor is usually because they are set to Self-serve ordering only. In the future, to access the item list settings, you'd need to mark one of your items as available for Shipping or other fulfilment method. Once that's done, you should see that item coming up in the editor list and be able to toggle off different features.
