I have a cottage bakery. I want to set a maximum limit on the number of times each of my products can be ordered (not maximum limit per customer, but maximum limit of orders altogether for the week, for example).
I want to be able to set a different maximum limit unique to each item, as I have different quantity capabilities depending on the product (ex. I could make a maximum of 20 loaves of bread, and I could make a maximum of 100 scones). There are some order-limiting settings that Square offers, but they aren't what I'm looking for.
Today (12/1/25), I called Square about this. It doesn't seem to be a setting that is currently available. Can this setting be added please? Until then, I suppose I need to watch my incoming orders, and manually turn off online ordering when it reaches my preferred limit, unless there is a better way that I'm unaware of.
Thanks,

Hey @KaishaTroe ,
great question! I think that inventory might help you here. this is something that you can set per product, and once it's sold out/depleted it isn't available for purchase any longer.
For example, you can set your inventory for scones to 100, and loaves of bread to 20. once they have all been sold, they won't be available online for purchase until you update the inventory again. You could choose to do this daily or weekly, and if you look at the below linked article, there appears to even be a way to automatically reset the inventory at a specified interval (check out the section titled "inventory management".
I hope that helps solve the issue you are having.

Following up. This was definitely the solution. Though it seems there are some workarounds on my end for orders that want to be made past the stock availability, this has helped me tremendously.
Thank you very much! Now I can advertise my business with stock control and peace of mind.
