Help with combining sites

So hoping someone out there can help me out.  Will try to explain best way I can. Going into 5th year of business.  I have had SQUARESPACE website since the beginning & Square as my POS. I ever imagined before COVID I would need/want/have to have an online store the way I do.  When covid started I set up my online store as I am operating under curbside only pick up.  I also have a SQUARESPACE site that was previous used so people can see me entire menu for special ordering, cake gallery, wedding cakes, & other vendors that my store carries.  When having to go to online ordering I then set up my square store & have a link on my site.  My question is a my squarespace comes up for renewal I am thinking of switching to an upgraded square store?? I need more than just an online store given my bakery.  I need the two seperate sides so to speak.  As my curbside is a weekly menu that changes.  I honestly think going back to my "normal" walk in etcc format is a long way off as we are still stuck in this mess.  Any advice from my fellow bakers out there?? @LordPies any thoughts?? How were you/are you operating?? Thanks!!

Hi @droidbaker !

What a coincidence, I also use Squarespace for the same bakery that sells through Square! So what i do is, i still maintain the old Squarespace website but I am actually considering just removing Squarespace entirely and stop paying $20/m for that. Plus it is easier for the accountant to just use my Square data to file taxes and review sales trends. It would be more work to maintain sales info and a separate set of data.

The only reason I have not yet pulled the plug is because I do use my Squarespace to list all my other info. I was thinking of just porting it all over to Square site and try to learn how to make pages work for me. At least with Square, I can list modifiers and enter down price differences so customers automatically get to see which options cost more and how it all adds up.

I think we are on the same page. I need to have the separation between my "online store" & my "website". So I can showcase my gallery, other special order options, custom cakes. So is it your understanding then that I could create a page for the online store and another one for the separate stuff??

I've never been able to put Square info or products to function within blocks on Squarespace. That part would have been nice.

I normally just put links on my squarespace to direct customers to products on my Square. Some links are just photos with a "buy now" button.
