Anyone have a promo code for the ecard system? They are pricey already and THEN $40+ plus shipping for CARDS is ridiculous! Trying to find a more affordable way to provide physical gift cards for my customers that doesn't involve printing certificates on paper ๐
Suggestions welcome!!
Hi there, @aradcookie,
Great question, I totally understand the concern about pricing, those costs can definitely add up. Unfortunately, we donโt have any active promo codes for the Gift Card system at this time. However, if anything comes up in the future, Iโll be sure to share it. Thank you for checking our the Square Community for this question though, I see that this is your first post with us. We are so happy you are here.
I know this isn't the answer to your question, but one thing to consider is the fact the cards are reusable and brings the cost down a good amount when looked at per use.. We have well over 500 cards that have been used 10 times or more and 100s more that are over 3-5 times. making the cost for each use under 10ยข. The new ones with QR codes are awesome and fast, no more trying to swipe them.
Thank you! I had not thought about the fact that they are reusable. That's a great point.
I wrote to Square and to eCardSystems the following: Second time writing my dismay at your shocking shipping charges. Your interface lost my first email. Small businesses know how much it costs to mail 75 plastic cards and it is not over $30 dollars. You hide the price until the end. Then stick it to us. It makes me feel angry, not just at you but at Square for using you as their business partner and not having a choice. I sent a complaint to Square. And I now know why I am financially restrained from selling Gift Certificates to my customers. I will again write to my congressperson demanding that outrageous shipping should be illegal and you need to prove that the cost of shipping actually cost that much. We're even taxed on it so they have a fiduciary duty to investigate that we aren't being charged and taxed for services we are not getting. Yours, Brenda
