It’s time for the holiday 2021 edition of “Get Expert Feedback on Your Square Online Store”!  🎁 🎁 🎁

 

Now is a really great time to make some changes in preparation for the holiday shopping season. Just like the other threads in this series, comment below with a link to your Square Online store. No problem, @LAZRR. I fixed the link in your first post just in case someone clicks on that one to view your site.

 

Have you considered using white for the background of your navigation area and footer? Since your logo has a white background, it would help make that look less blocky.

 

I think your site could also benefit from an "about us" page, where you could talk a bit abut who your are, what you do, and why you do it.

I'm having way too many issues with my site, images disappear, product gets duplicated, stock counts mysteriously change to incorrect amounts, and when I correct them, it does not come through even though the process goes through without a problem.  At one time, I had a duplicate account, I was not aware of it until I consulted support and they told me about it.  I have removed the duplicate, and some of the problems could be from that, however, there is a recent product I just added that is displaying issues like those cited above and I am not getting them to take corrections.  Your feedback would be a great help.

Welcome to the club 🤣 I also had several product images mysteriously disappear this week. Inventory numbers always change, don’t sync with online, or randomly get labeled “out of stock” when tracking is off. Let us all know if you figure out why.

Have you contacted our support team about the product you are seeing that with, @DaisyFed? If not, please let them know what the product is and what steps you took so they can try to recreate what you are seeing.

I have contacted them a couple of times about issues, but I don't think I have about this specifically.  Thank you for that suggestion, I'd still like your feedback on my site also.  I'm trying to grow my online sales and I would like it to look professional.  Thank you.

I have contacted support a couple of times, but I'm not sure if one of those was specifically about this, but I will if it continues to happen.  Thank you for the suggestion.    Also, I would appreciate your feedback on my site, I'm trying to grow my sales and I want it to look as professional as I can, I cannot afford to hire someone to build it for me, so your thoughts would help tremendously.

have you taken any images of your products in jars or bottles? Having the graphic for each is totally fine, but including images of the item itself would be great. You might want to check out the Square Photo Studio app if you have a moment, It's free and really easy to use.

Not a problem, @RubysDaughter1 - I think you've done a really nice job. 

 

I've been looking at your collections section on the home page for a minute and I had an idea. What if, instead of using the featured categories section, you used the image gallery section with the layout that uses different sized images. This will be really visually interesting, and will let you emphasize certain categories over others. You can link these to categories, so it will function similarly but look different.

 

Since you have a main site, you also might want to consider using a subdomain with your online ordering site, like shop.rubys-daughter.com.

Hi @MsToYourJoy - thanks for sharing your site! I love how the soft colors you used tie in with your logo! 😊

I just have a few minor suggestions:

- Consider using just the Featured Items section on the home page to show off your bundles and sample packs instead of the text description and links. This would take less space on your page and look a bit more organized.

- You might want to try using a different header layout than the one you currently have. There's a layout option that places the logo above the navigation menu that I think would work better for your site. It would leave more space for your logo while also creating more room for the navigation menu items. I'm attaching a screenshot so you can see the one I'm talking about.

Hey @BAMDesserts - I love all the gorgeous and yummy-looking photos on your site! Also, your FAQ page is great - so well-organized and informative! I have just a few suggestions for you:

- I'd recommend moving your customer testimonials and current/former clients sections to a separate page and adding that page to your navigation menu. That will make it easier to find and free up some space on your home page as well.

- I'd also suggest adding some more items to the featured items section. The cake taster box looks a little lonely by itself. 😉

Hi, @CarrieC - thanks for sharing your site! First of all, your site looks great - I love the branding and the name (so cute!), and your soaps are absolutely gorgeous (almost too pretty to use!).

I think you've done an excellent job, so the only suggestion I have is to add an Instagram feed - assuming you're using Instagram. 😊
