Free shipping rate not recognised with set order value.

There doesn't appear to be a way to set a free shipping profile based on order value, despite the options picked. I have set a shipping profile for free postage for orders of £50 or more.

If I check out with one item in my basket at £18 I'll be charged postage. If I put 3 of the same items in my basket at £18 each, totalling £54, I'm still charged the same postage as if it was under £50, but it should be free.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Hi there @Mans_Head, thanks for flagging this and welcome! 

 

It doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong. If the setting is set to: Default (all items) and then the rate is applied there shouldn't be any issues.

Hi

Thanks for responding. It could be me?!

All of my items are in a custom shipping profiles, depending on size and weight. There doesn't seem to be a way of creating a shipping profile that will override the others if total order value is £50 or more. I've migrated from Shopify and now I'm not sure I've made the right move.  😕

There doesn't seem much in the way of customisation with the website.

I appreciate your feedback @Mans_Head, It's essential to ensure that your shipping settings meet business requirements

 

A custom delivery profile lets you set up unique delivery rates and regions for specific items.  Creating a custom delivery profile for these items lets you exclude any restricted regions. They also work with your default delivery profile to allow more flexibility in how you deliver your items.

 

I believe there shouldn't be an override here but again would likely need to see the settings to confirm.
