Hi,
I have a business from a residential address. I want to facilitate pick up points/locations in different areas. The only way I can see is to add locations via business settings. However this appears to want to charge me a HUGE fee 89$ (Square Retail) for each location!
How do you set up multiple pick up points without this fee? It seems unmanageable for small start up’s to pay that, nor do we want pick ups at our homes….
HI there @SensationalSew. I might have a work-around, but I need more information before going there. Do you have a different pickup location each day for all orders received? Do different items have different pickup locations? How do you decide where the location is going to be for a given day?
Hi, thanks for your response!
I want the opportunity to meet customers at public places rather than at my home for safety... So for example to meet at local coffee shops for pick up. No specific days/times, just as needed.
@SensationalSew That’s what I thought, but wanted to be sure. As long as ordering and pickup and consistent — all items ordered on date x are to be picked up on date y, you could do this like food trucks do. Just change your pickup address each day for orders that come in that day. But, consistency would be key here. Do you think that might work for you?
Thanks for your help. Wow, those food trucks have a job doing that. That won’t exactly work. I’d love for people to be able to select their nearest pick up from a list and just meet them there. But not enough to pay $89 per location. Ugh.
Any other thoughts? I’d love to hear them.
@SensationalSew Actually, I do. Create a modifier set with all of your locations listed. Attach it to your items, and make it required before an item can be added to the cart. The only problem with this would happen if a customer picked one pickup location for one item and a different one for another item. But hopefully no one is that stupid! LOL. Anyway, to do this quickly.
After you do this, be patient. It might take a while for all of these changes to propagate. Once it does, then all items added to an online cart will have a location — hopefully the same location.
Other than the initial setup, the best part of this workaround is that you can change the location list quickly and it doesn’t cost anything.
That’s the best I’ve got, though. I can help you more if you run into issues or have further questions.
Thank you! Genius! I’m going to try this!
I appreciate all your assistance and advice!
