Delivery Order is a Gift

Hi!  We are really finding limitations with the online delivery with weebly/square.  There is no where for the customer to enter the recipient's information that is receiving a gift.  It asks for delivery address but then the check out process is all about the customer who is purchasing.

There needs to be a stop for the customer to enter the recipient's name and contact information.  This would really make it clear that the delivery order is actually a gift.  A printable gift receipt for the delivery order would be awesome too so that no pricing information is visible.

Some customers will enter this information unpromted in the orders notes and others don't really think to do so.

Thanks for posting, @Fatplantfarm

Just to clarify, you are referring to delivery fulfillment, and not shipping fulfillment? I ask because I have had people refer to "shipments" as "deliveries" in the past.

I definitely think it is a good idea to have customers utilize the notes field on the checkout page. Perhaps you can add a notification banner to the top of your website, or add the note to the item descriptions.

Yes, for local delivery and not for shipping.   Yes I can definitely add a banner to the top.  Hopefully they see that too. It's just not set up for deliveries as being pruchases for gifts.  Like a flower shop type of a thing.

I agree with you, and I'm happy to forward your feedback to the teams. Hopefully the banner work around helps for now. 😊

Its been 2 years now and we still have the same issue, it needs addressing.

Especially since the new order feature reformatted the order page.

I've attached my threat "confusing delivery" below

Most of our deliveries are gifts that the buyer sends to  a friend, client etc.

But when the buyer clicks on the address button to enter the recipients address she is not prompted for a name!, only an address! We had to created a modifier reminding the buyer to give us the recipients name, because many forget.

Can we change that. It is very confusing in the check out but also with any  subsequent Notification emails etc .Right now the notification email lists the buyers name right above the recipients address! Super confusing!!!!!!!!!

Square always assumes that buyers ship to themselves which is not always the case.  This needs to be addressed as any business in the gift industry, flower shops, chocolate shops etc struggles with this setup.
