Selling specific quantities of items

right now I am using variations to allow customers to choose per 100, per 1000 prices for items.

however, the system is only deducting a single item from the inventory when i do it this way, when it should really be deducting 100, or 1000 pieces.

can anyone suggest the correct way to do this?

You may want to look into Square For Retail Plus and specifically Bundles.  Note:  Bundles are only available with the Square for Retail Plus subscription but, they do offer a free trial.   Plans are explained here.  Right now by design, the items you have setup like a 100 or 1000 are only treated as one each.  I've seen similar questions in the Developer Forum - it would take a bit of custom coding to do what you have in mind but, that's a bit beyond the scope of this Community.
