Hello @AdamB thanks for this post! I have created a few coupons for my online site, but never had anyone redeem them. My site in general doesn't get much traffic; I think it takes a lot of work to organically become a shopping destination and with in-person retail sales (and wholesale orders as well) I find my website always gets relegated to the bottom of the "to-do" pile. I really only see a lot of sales during the holidays, and then it's usually when other stores are out of an item that I still have in stock. It's funny because I'll get a ton of orders all for the same item and then I know "so and so other store" is out of stock LOL. They must want that one single item really bad and google ... at least they find me that way 🙂
Another issue is those sales are always just for one item. It would be great to have some kind of tool where you can prompt shoppers to add additional items to their cart, to either reach a threshold for free shipping or a free gift, but not sure if Square has that coding capability. Just an example of another site that I think does a GREAT job to capture and incentivize online shopping is Grove. It's a site for household items (cleaners, tissues, etc.) but they have a great cart system that prompts you to keep adding items to get free gifts. I think this is a great model for getting more online sales but I have no idea what takes place in their back-end code to make this happen.
