I am unable to set up my new square register. Whenever I try to connect it to the Wi-Fi network, I receive a message that reads: unable to connect. Reason: timed out. I have verified the strength of the network and password.

These issues can be frustrating for sure and troubleshooting is always a challenge. Assuming you have a smart phone with hotspot capability - have you tried connecting your Register to it ? Another suggestion, the Register can also connect to your router via an Ethernet (hard wire) connection. If the Register cannot connect via Ethernet - then you need to contact Tech Support. Assuming it is new (under warranty), they should be able to replace it. Note, the Community is not Tech Support or Customer Service but, there is quite a bit of hands on experience. Perhaps others have some additional thoughts.
