The software is up to date on both the square terminal and the Square POS app. When I go to Settings > Hardware > the only options I see are Square Readers, Printers, Bar Code Scanners, and Scales, but not Square Terminal, so I am not able to get device code and pair either my iPhone or iPad with the Square Terminal. What am I doing wrong? Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

Quick question: when you’re trying to pair the two, are you looking at the settings menu on the terminal or the iPad/iphone? To get the device code, you need to be in the settings menu of your iOS device, not the terminal.
If you are, then my next idea is to check More > Settings > Open Tickets. Can you tell us what options you have on this screen? There’s one setting that may be causing problems.
