Square app permissions disappeared in after iPad update

The Square app permissions disappeared in the iPad update. It doesn't allow us to give the Square app permission to use any of our device options. The Location services, camera, contacts, phone permissions are needed for the app to work. It's not in the menu options to activate them manually. It's all gone.  I just lost the use of my register because we have an iPad in a square stand & now I can't use it. Hopefully we'll get a fix soon. Can we revert back to an older iPad version until this is fixed?

Hi @alhstudio2021!

To help me better understand, are you saying that since the recent app update, you’re now seeing a message asking you to enable permissions on your device, even though you had previously enabled them?

If so, that’s definitely something I can flag to my team!

In the meantime, you can manage your app permissions on your iPad by going to your device Settings (not the Square app settings) > Privacy & Security > scroll down and select the Square app. You’ll see a list of permissions the app can access, tap each one to update the settings as needed.

That said, we did make some changes to our app permission requirements earlier this year, which I’ve explained in more detail in my Best Answer on this thread. In short, you should only be prompted to enable certain permissions as they’re needed while using the app.

If you’re still running into issues after updating your permissions, could you share a screenshot of any error message you’re seeing when trying to use the Square app? I can pass that along to my team for review.
