Square Reader (2nd Generation) - bluetooth not connecting

I am totally new to using a Square Reader (2nd Generation).

I am currently waiting for my bank verification to go through - is there any way to speed that up at all?

I have set up a mobile & an iPad to use, but the Reader will not connect to them - they detect the Reader, but they won't connect.

I have checked that both the mobile & iPad are compatible.

I have also tried connecting to the Reader from a laptop, but that doesn't work either.

Could someone please clarify if maybe bluetooth connection to the Reader is not available until my bank verification goes through?

I wanted to first answer your question that unfortunately there is not a way to expedite the bank verification process. If it ends up going past the intended turnaround time though, please let me or our banking team know and we can see what we can do to help.

 

In regard to your device issues you should still be able to connect your devices. I do have a few questions for you though: 

  • What messages are you receiving on your devices?
  • Are your devices up-to-date?
  • Did they work at any other point and just now stopped working recently?
