Square App crashing on iOS 27 Developer Beta

Updated to iOS 27  Developer beta today and Square app crashes after opening. On iPhone 17 Pro.

Yes I concur. The app doesn’t seem to crash. It seems to go into the background then if you click on it again it does it 0 to 100% and then after two or three seconds it disappears to the background again

Yes - this is exactly what happens. Whether you tap something or not, it goes from 0-100%, loads calendar, and then will crash after 2-3 seconds.

it is doing this for me also once I upgraded to iOS 27 developer, please fix as soon as possible.

Same thing happening to me, upgraded to iOS 27 beta and now the app minimizes after about 3 seconds of being open. I’m using an iPhone 17pro max

you will have to restore your phone to ios 26, hope you made a backup before you upgraded to 27

Square won’t update their app until September to work with iOS 27.  Right now they are in the testing phase to make sure the app when updated will work with iOS 27 and previous versions.  Like @Jase  posted above the only way to get the app to work now is to restore your phone.

go into airplane mode, open the app and transfer your money, you can take payments but only until you close the app, you can repeat the process but it's annoying

Same here on my iPhone. Guess I"ll keep my iPad mini on iOS 26 for now.

Hello everyone - I've got a HACK that seems to work to tide you over.  Open the app in airplane mode until is stabilises.  It shouldn't crash now.  Leave it for about a minute or so then switch off airplane mode and it should work again.

I took your suggestion as that it could take transactions in offline mode - as if the app is hampered and you can only use it in airplane mode.

My suggestion actually said to take off airplane mode then you can use the app completely normally.  I'm trying to do things like update inventory which cannot be done in airplane mode but I can now use the app normally.

Hope it helps someone that didn't take that from your suggestion.

yeah I'm just joking and bad at writing lol, unfortunately it only works until you restart the session, but honestly it was about time to get an actual POS device anyway as some cards require a chip&pin and it's always a pain

I have tried putting my phone into airplane mode and it is still not working, any other options?

Leave it in airplane mode for a minute or so then take it off - it should work again until you restart the app.
