I bought a new square, the small one. I finally got it working, but I cant seem to delete the old one off.
How can I get the Reader Alert off on top?

Usually the Square app will only show connected hardware, not former hardware.
Since your reader is connected and working, I wonder if all the fiddling around to get it connected caused the app to get confused. Try signing out of your account, restarting the device, checking for updates to the app and device OS, then signing back in. That will force the app to reload the settings. Hopefully that will make the error go away.
If it's still there, can you verify that the reader is fully connected and working by running a $1 test payment? If it works, please send along a screen shot of the error and what you see in More -> Settings -> Hardware -> Square Readers so we can continue to troubleshoot.
