My tips are down by 90% after the latest software release

In the latest upgrade, the black "No Tip" button has been replaced by the gray "No Tip, thanks!" button. This button is now of different color from other tip buttons. I have MA degree in psychology, and I can attest that this small change has a profound psychological impact. When one item on the menu is of different color, it strongly entices the customers to choose this button over the others. Adding "thanks!" doesn't help either. As a result, our tips have decreased by a whopping 90% after that. There is no way to customize or remove this button. Please, please, please, go back to the previous setup where all the buttons are of the same color! And also, either remove "thanks!" or add it to all other tip amounts. I hope this is just an oversight on the developers' part and not a deliberate attempt to screw the merchants.

I'm wondering why your "NO TIP" is a different color. I have my gratuity screen set up to give three percentage options, add a custom tip or no tip. Everything is the same color so there is no psychological warfare going on.

Double check and make sure your system software is up to date. I can guarantee that if my servers saw their tips going down, there would be some screaming and yelling from my staff.

Thanks for the reply. I absolutely have the latest software, but it looks like we are using different hardware. I am using SPD2-01 terminal (see image).

Ah yes... looks like you are using the Square Terminal. We use the Square Register. And it would be nice if they all had a black oval around each one. I do agree.

And while I know that servers LOVE their tips, I do think that a lot of servers feel that they should receive far more gratuity that necessary. (My servers are hands down included!!) If you order a canned soft drink or beer and you took my money and reached behind you to hand me a can, do I really need to tip you?? But if you create three craft cocktails and poured me a beautiful draft as well as helped me and my peeps make a great food order... then yes! I should definitely tip you.

Its a tough road to navigate as a business owner.
