Out of nowhere today on our terminal we had this message "Encryption unsuccessful"
only option was "ERASE ALL DATA" which didn't work either. After many attempts to do a factory reset that didn't work I called support.
My understanding is if you see this problem, you will have to replace your terminal.
Big Shout Out to Square Support....new terminal on the way.
We have a Contactless card reader as a back up, and a Square stand. Always keep a back up device ready and test it frequently.
