Device not supported Error - Contactless Reader on Galaxy Tab 2 running Android 6

Hi,

Is there any way to figure out what might be blocking the reader from connecting to the app properly? We're running a Galaxy Tab 2 that's operating on Lineage13 - Android v6.0.1 and it's google certified on google play store.

We were able to successfully get the latest version of the square app and start the connection process. The reader does manage to 'connect' blinking green lights but the app complains that it's an unsupported device despite the fact that both bluetooth and the android version are satisfactory.

It's a bit frustrating as it appears that the reader IS connecting but the software is intentionally blocking it based on a hardware reference list. (Is it checking the model number and preventing us from connecting?)

Thanks!

Hi @makercuber. I took a look at the Device Compatibility website and I see that the the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 are currently not supported with the Contactless and Chip card reader. I'm sorry!

If a device has been added to the compatibility site it means the Square Hardware team tested these devices. This list is updated frequently and it's a good reference point if you're looking for a new device to use to accept card payments!
