Connecting two devices to one printer

We have a square stand at our front register and use just an iPad with square for our driver thru, what is the best way to connect both devices to one printer?

@dmcb If you. Have a printer that is connected to your router, by either WiFi or Ethernet you can connect both.  I know Star Micronics has one that will work with Square. The link is below.

This is how you will connect it.

  1. Plug your printer into your router using an Ethernet cable.
  2. On both your Square Stand and your Drive-Thru iPad, connect to the same Wi-Fi network that your printer is plugged into.
  3. In the Square POS app:
    • Go to More → Settings → Hardware → Printers.
    • Tap “Add Printer” → Select your LAN printer from the list.
    • Name it (e.g., “Kitchen Printer” or “Receipt Printer”).
    • Set up what it should print (receipts, order tickets, etc.).
  4. Repeat on the second device — the same printer should appear under “Available Printers.”

Both devices can print receipts or tickets to the same printer simultaneously.

IF your printer is connected to your stand / register via USB, then connecting a 2nd device will be the issue, as RT said, a network version of the printer solves all your problems.  Sometimes with the printers, you can get little add in cards to connect them to the network via a plug in, or even a dongle.  They have little usb to network adapters for things like this.
