We've been open for 2 whole years now. Last year we introduced cold brew. This year we're about introduce smoothies. The smoothie shop down the street closed last summer and we've gotten many requests to start offering 'healthy' smoothies. We're going to have a limited selection, but it should help round out our afternoon sales when many people slow down on caffeine. I went back and forth on it for awhile since we're usually coffee-first, starting as a roastery.
How often do you introduce new products to your menu? Not just seasonal, but ever-green products, main staples?
We have two menu boards, summer and winter. 80% of the menu remains the same on both but we do mix it up with a few seasonal specials. So this year we have offered some boozy summer specials like a Baileys Gelato and Baileys ice cream shakes. Customers have their favorites so keeping some of the core familiar favorites is a must but change keeps things interesting and fresh.

We try and HYPE THEM
UP!
other that seasonal menus we tend to tread very lightly with complete new offerings. We go through a wild list of pros and cons, does it align with vision, is it meeting a need? Is it trendy? Etc.
It is so easy to want to give in or even when business is feeling weird to just reach out and grab something that feels like it will help!
So MAYBE once a year…
