Hi everyone, I’m wondering how you arrange your menu tiles. I’ve experimented with colors, photos of meals, and other elements, and now I’ve created some custom icons that I’m really enjoying. They’re simple, easy to identify the menu category, and look great on both larger tablet screens and the smaller handheld devices which was the most important as nothing really seems to translate to the smaller screens very well.
Have you received any feedback from your staff on what you've tried for your menu tiles?
Below are screenshots of what I just switched to
Nice!
I customize every tile. I would love to know if we have a way to turn off the tile names that we don't need.
Since our menu needs to work for both our servers and the public, we have photos of almost every item associated with each button. For the person who asked about customizing the text on each button, there is an option to do so on tablets. Long or on the item/button and then select "Edit Item". Then click the [Edit POS tile] button and enter your desired name in the "Tile label" field.
I like what you did! I havn't used action buttons like you seem to have (Notify when ready, SPlit Check, etc). HOw do those work?
They are just shortcuts to functions within the actions menu of a check. I put them on the main POS screen for staff to quickly be able to find frequently used actions vs having to go into the action menu and scrolling. You can add these tiles on the POS Layout design screen within the dashboard.
I wish there was a way to remove the default text without chaning it. I used to just change it to "." but it compolicated things in the long run.
If you figure this out please let me know.
Those look great. Do you have/use the Square handhelds too? That was the hard part for me to design images that worked on both the larger tablets and the smaller handhelds as you can't personalize the icons for each (which would be nice).
My Mobiles seem to retain earlier versions of our graphics for some reason, maybe because of size and dementions.
Liking the icons and colours. Looks helpful and very professional.
