We ran out of drivers and decided to try the on demand delivery that square offered through weebly. It was a nightmare. Not sure if anyone else has had issues.
They would accept every order. It would print for us to make the order. We made the first order and marked it as ready. It said a driver would be there in 20 minutes.
No driver came. Postmates just cancelled on their end after an hour and stuck us with the food and refunding the customer.
The next few, we did not make and again and again they accepted the orders, said a driver was coming, then cancelled when one did not come. Again, no concern for our business, angry customers, or any lost profit.
It is a shame square partners with weebly who place very little value on our businesses.
Del8very services were a frippin' nightmare until we discovered a company called Ordermark. We now utilize Ordermark. Postmates, Uber, Grubhub, Doordash all go through Ordermark. You can control all of them through the Ordermark tablet and each order prints out on Ordermark's printer. It will accept/decline/delay order pickup etc.
There's a monthly fee but compared to what it was versus what it is now you get your money's worth.
Hello @Josephwigton,
Good to see you posting in the Seller Community again, even if it is under this unfortunate circumstance.😕
We are truly sorry to hear you had this experience. A disruption in service of any kind is never an ideal situation to have to deal with for any business owner.
Considering that Square partners with Uber/Postmates, what we typically recommend in these situations is to reach out to follow up with the service provider directly:
I have also included this FAQ doc for your viewing.
Hey @Josephwigton!
Our beer & pizza pub helped test the initial launch of on demand delivery and found that Postmates was atrocious (I guess maybe our average size city isn’t big enough to support having the necessary amount of drivers?) Shortly after, Doordash became available and since then they are the only delivery service we have used. Of all the delivery orders we’ve received, I’ve only had 1 no show for an order. They have actually exceeded my expectations to date. I would recommend turning off Postmates (Uber) and trying DoorDash as the only option. They are also extremely easy to get ahold of for restaurant side support by phone —and even proactively reached out to us when the driver didn’t show. Anyways, just my perspective, hope it helps. Let me know if you have any other questions about on demand delivery.
Thanks. I will remember that. They should disabled postmates. It should violate terms to accept orders and then cancel after they are made.
