Happy Holidays Everyone!
We had previously added our "pickup ordering" to our online ordering menu. We discovered an issue today (Christmas Eve) where we had correctly set our "restricted dates" to not allow pickup ordering today and tomorrow. It seems that based on the web link, the system may or may not follow the "restricted dates". Here is what the links are and whate we are seeing;
So, is this a bug?????
The reason I'm asking is because it is much easier to promote on a flyer the first site, as it is something you can remember.
@nika or @TheRealChipA , do either of you have a thought on this?
John,
I followed both links. Both are allowing me to add items to the cart and, I assume, would allow me to complete checkout.
That being said, how in the world did you set online store restricted dates? As far as I am aware, that is not currently a thing. I'm still just turning off my online store for days we are not open. I hate it, but it's all I know to do.
Sorry for the delay @TheRealChipA , here is how I have it configured, and what I "think" is the right way of doing it....
This should NOT allow for online ordering these dates, correct?
John... WHERE do you find this feature? It is not on my account anywhere. So, I'm totally confused.
Forget that last question. I finally found it. This is a new feature and I had no clue it had been designed and coded, much less rolled out. Anyway, you are right that what you are expecting should be what is happening. So, I'm guessing you've found a bug. Heck, even Square AI doesn't know that it exists yet!! LOL
Hey @SVLFever - Sorry for the delay. Getting back into the swing of things here.
Any chance this is still happening for you? I know you had your hours restricted on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but let me know if you're still seeing the issue and I'll see what I can find out. Sorry again!
Hey @nika , yes, we aer still seeing the issue. We just duplicated it again, and used an incognito browser to verify that we can still order, despite having today "restricted".
Hey @nika . Some additional information from testing this morning. It seems that the issue occurs also outside of the "operating hours", but it's only the main, direct link that is causing the issue. Links using the addtional hashtag information generated by scanning the QR code does NOT have the issue. For example, this link works as expected - https://grill-at-sun-valley.square.site/?location=LQ28PHYJHN51Q&customer_seat_id=11f0a3b8a308ff1a932...
grill-at-sun-valley.square.site clicking this link, no matter what day or time, will allow you to order. The issue is operationally is that we want to promote/direct people to this site, since it's easy to print, say and remember.
Let me know if more questions.
