Payment Link - Sales Tax

I have been using Payment Links for years to create custom links for clients to pay for shipping and other non-taxable charges. However, Square recently updated the feature so that sales tax is now automatically applied to all Payment Links.

After spending considerable time with Square support, I have confirmed that there is currently no way to disable or override this tax within Payment Links. Is there a way to remove the sales tax from Payment Links? This is something new that has changed within the past few months.

I have the same issue. The last time I used payment links for a course I teach I was able to remove the sales tax. Now there is no option that I have been able to find to turn the tax off. Its very frustrating.

Same issue here. The only kind of work around I've been able to find is creating and selling it as an item that is non-taxable, but again that means you can't have a various price entry and is WAY too many hoops to jump through. This needs fixed, stat.

Ok So I had an issue where I didn't think it was applying tax but it was just after an address was entered but I needed this for an in person transaction. So they said I needed to adjust my settings within my item listing itself. It is likely the same for you for the specific items you don't want to collect tax go into the item & turn off tax collecting and then make your payment link. Maybe that will work. I have to go into each item & choose pick up only so that it doesn't try to get addresses. LOL Anyway, try it. Good Luck!
