@SquareSupport
We have a string Custom Item called Publisher which is not being displayed for items in the new input screen.
Fortunately, it seems that the existing values haven't been lost, because I can Filter by Custom Attribute ... Publisher and select a value and the item is still listed.
Please make them visible!
Same issue here — we use custom attributes for some of our catalog items and the new item library UI isn't showing them. The data is still there (filtering works) but you can't see or edit the values in the item edit screen.
This is definitely a bug in the new item library rollout. The old interface showed custom attributes inline. The new one seems to have dropped them from the edit view.
Workaround for now: you can still edit custom attributes via CSV export/import — export your catalog, edit the Publisher column in a spreadsheet, and re-import. Not ideal but it works until they fix the UI.
I'd tag this with @SquareSupport if you can — it needs to be flagged as a regression. Custom attributes are a core feature for businesses with complex catalogs.
@Mobilebarn Sadly I can't edit the original post for some reason. Is there a better place for me to put this (or repeat it)?
I've tried adding the Publisher attribute to a couple of items and it then does appear when the item is reopened, so I'm not sure what's going on here. Hopefully a quick fix.
I'm always wary of Square changes like this as they're never as thorough as they should be in their testing - fortunately my first experience with the new layout yesterday was mostly positive. Have you noticed any other issues?
Hey Square Team
I anyone reading these posts? This is a very important regression introduced by the Item Entry Update and no-one has responded.
