Square Online Website - Need access to JSON and Structured Data.

Team,

We are currently doing a massive update to Square Online.  With the advent of artificial intelligence, we are finding that the Square Weebly platform performs poorly when it comes to SEO optimization.  We used SEO optimization tools to scan our site and it found that we are performing poorly compared to others.  For example:

  1. Store location information does not follow Google's SEO protocol for Meta and Structured Data.  The https://www.keva.com/s/store-locator, site isn't parsing with Google SEO.  Google recommends separate location pages for this and a file structure to match.  /Home/locations/country/state/city/LOCATION.  We don't have access to this.
  2. Structured Data for Google Reviews using JSON is not possible.
  3. Structured metadata for Google Reviews is not possible.
  4. Meta tags in web pages are not possible.

Hence, our business is "smoothies, juices, and bowls", we pull up dead last on Google even though we have been open 20 years, have 10 locations, and almost 100,000 loyal customers.

Is Square working on this?  How do we optimize our site around Square's limitations?

SEO Compliance Audit Report: Keva.com

Executive Summary

This report provides a comprehensive analysis of the SEO compliance of www.keva.com. The audit reveals a mixed landscape of strong foundational SEO practices and critical technical deficiencies that are likely impacting search engine rankings and user experience. While the website excels in areas such as local SEO, content relevance, and image optimization, it is significantly held back by poor Core Web Vitals, a lack of structured data, and fundamental on-page SEO errors like missing H1 tags and duplicate meta descriptions. Addressing these issues should be a top priority to improve the website's overall SEO performance.

Detailed Analysis Technical SEO

The website has a solid technical foundation in some areas. The robots.txt file is well-configured, providing clear instructions to search engine crawlers, and the XML sitemap is comprehensive and up-to-date. The site also correctly uses HTTPS, which is a confirmed Google ranking factor [1].

However, the audit identified two major technical SEO issues:

•Core Web Vitals: The website fails Google's Core Web Vitals assessment for both mobile and desktop users. This is a critical issue as Core Web Vitals are a significant ranking factor [2]. The poor scores for Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Interaction to Next Paint (INP), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) indicate a suboptimal user experience, which can lead to higher bounce rates and lower search rankings.

Metric

Desktop

Recommendation

LCP

5.2s (Poor)

4.6s (Poor)

Optimize images and server response time.

INP

1,157ms (Needs Improvement)

262ms (Needs Improvement)

CLS

0.96 (Poor)

0.43 (Poor)

Specify image dimensions and reserve space for ads.

•Structured Data: The website does not use any structured data (e.g., Schema.org markup). This is a missed opportunity, especially for a local business. Implementing the LocalBusiness schema would provide search engines with more context about the business, which can lead to enhanced search results, such as rich snippets [3].

On-Page SEO

The website's on-page SEO is a mix of strengths and weaknesses. The URL structure is clean and user-friendly, and the content is well-written and relevant to the target audience. The use of keywords is natural and effective.

However, there are several critical on-page SEO issues that need to be addressed:

•Missing H1 Tags: The audit found that the website is missing H1 tags on its pages. The H1 tag is the most important heading tag and should be used to describe the main topic of the page. The absence of H1 tags makes it difficult for search engines to understand the page's content.

•Duplicate Meta Descriptions: All pages on the website use the same meta description. Meta descriptions should be unique for each page and provide a concise summary of the page's content. Duplicate meta descriptions can confuse search engines and lead to a poor user experience in the search results.

Local SEO

The website has a strong local SEO presence. The store locator page provides detailed information for each location, including name, address, and phone number (NAP). The website also has dedicated pages for each location, which is a best practice for local SEO.

Actionable Recommendations

To improve the SEO compliance of www.keva.com, we recommend the following actions, prioritized by their potential impact:

1.Optimize Core Web Vitals: This is the most critical issue and should be addressed immediately. Focus on optimizing images, deferring non-critical CSS and JavaScript, and improving server response times.

2.Implement H1 Tags: Add a unique and descriptive H1 tag to every page on the website.

3.Write Unique Meta Descriptions: Craft unique and compelling meta descriptions for each page that accurately summarize the content and encourage clicks from the search results.

4.Add Structured Data: Implement LocalBusiness schema markup on the website to provide search engines with more information about the business and its locations.

5.Review and Optimize Title Tags: While the homepage title is good, review the title tags for all other pages to ensure they are unique, descriptive, and optimized for relevant keywords.
