Restocking Fee

I know this has been requested before, but now that Square will be charging the processing fee for refunded transactions, I think it is essential for you to create a way for your customers to recoup that cost (as well as other costs incurred by accepting returned products). Please add an optional way to apply a percentage fee to returns.

Use Case... (this one is 100% self-evident ya'll 😉 )

Square is trying to improve its bottom line by not refunding refunded processing fees.
All of us small businesses (that are customers of Square) are also needing to be mindful of our bottom line.

Both Square and Small Businesses need to offer the BEST customer confidence level we can in order to maintain/increase sales, this generally means holding some sort of return policy.

In order to protect and benefit all three parties (Square, the small business using Square as the processor, AND the customer) we simply need a restocking process that is user-friendly for those who have staff and maintain inventory through Square.

I look forward to seeing this feature implemented in the near future.  Thanks all!

I agree, restocking fees are an absolute must. This should be prioritized.

Square, where are we at with the restocking fee feature?  Is it in the works?  Are you polling your customers to determine if many would find it useful?  Thanks for an update.

Like others have said having an option to automatically assess a restocking fee when an item is returned is a big deal.  It would also be nice to load several different fees that can be selected during the return process.  If square could handle this internally, I think it could also handle the tax portion of the return.  When manually calculating a return fee the tax gets returned to the customer but I am not sure it gets deducted from the tax report.
