Remove “No Tip, Thanks”

Remove “No Tip, Thanks”

We own and operate a food truck using Square Stand for the past 8 years. Previously, if a customer did not want to tip, they could select “Custom Amount” and put in 0. The tip screen had large banners and boxes on it that took up the whole page. Our employees depend on tips as part of their pay. The diminished size of the boxes on the tip screen and the “No tip, thanks.” has seriously cut into their wages. It’s just too easy for the customer to hit that button and not even consider tipping. I know other users are having the same issue on the forum. Please, restore the previous tip screen size and remove the “No tip, thanks.” button and let customers use the Custom Amount screen instead. Thank you for your consideration and your support of small business owners and their employees.

Agree with one part of this — those new buttons and fonts are ridiculously small, now. But…

Square… please do not just eliminate the no tip button for everyone. It is part of MY small business’s image. That button reinforces our long standing and positive message that tips are welcome but always completely optional.  PLEASE, if you change this button at all, give each business a setting option to toggle the button on and off for their small business. Otherwise, you will mess up forward-looking businesses like my small business.

Thank you.

The "no tip" button is fine, but the tip buttons getting smaller is a big problem for my coworkers.  Whoever comes up with these ideas and implementations... it always seems like changes coming from Square are bad.  There are not often times when Square has made changes and I think, "What a great change"

I tend to agree with @TheRealChipA .  I can't speak for every customer, but I would rather select no tip and leave a cash tip, then to have it ran through a CC sale.

And yes the increase of font size should be looked into.
