Receiving Voucher

Receiving Voucher

I have a small retail store, and just switched from QuickBooks POS to Square for Retail. In QB, I used receiving vouchers when new inventory came in, and return vouchers to send inventory back to a vendor (discontinued items, stock rotation, etc.). This is also more specific than just having a purchase order in the sense it can apply discounts (promotions from vendors, closeout items, quantity discounts, etc.) as well as allow to change the voucher cost without affecting the item price. Is this a feature Square is looking into with the sunsetting of QB POS? If not, I feel it would be a welcome addition to the retail version of Square.

Hi @TheSunglassShop,

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We understand how useful receiving and return vouchers are for managing inventory, applying vendor promotions, and adjusting costs without affecting item prices. This feature, as you described, provides flexibility that many retailers rely on, and it’s a great suggestion for Square for Retail.

We’ve shared your request with our product team for consideration in future updates, especially as more sellers transition from other POS systems like QuickBooks. If you have any other suggestions or need assistance, feel free to reach out—we’re here to help!

Hi Maya,

Any update on the status of vouchers? It would be incredibly useful, especially with all the price changes happening with tariffs right now.

Hi Kristen,

I see the status has changed back to open, does this mean somebody is finally looking into this feature that keeps getting asked for?
