Pool Cash tips

I've seen this come up before. It's CRAZY you can't pool cash tips as well for tip pooling

Hey Square! How is this coming? We currently add up all cash tips & credit card tips and then divide it the total out per hours worked but our team takes their cash tips with them daily so it makes for so much manual math every week when we do payroll! If only you had a way that the staff could enter their cash tips in at the end of their shift, and it gets accounted for in the tip total. I currently have an extensive excel spreadsheet that does it all for me but this is 2026 and it shouldn't take hours to run payroll.

@bluesparrow - I'm in full support of figuring out how to pool cash tips as well!

Great spot @lenjobakes ! I've merged the most recent request from @5315 with this existing thread, to make sure we can accurately track the number of sellers who are asking for this feature.

@tranguyen It feels safe to multiply the number that exists here by 10293827 because there are likely many more who just accept that it isn't a functionality who would indeed see benefit from it.

Any business who pools credit card tips will want to pool cash tips as well (if they accept cash). Having one without the other is a bit of a half measure; lessens a bit of the data we have to comb through, but I'm sure heaps of sellers are still relying on Excel docs to track their tip pools. There might even be some just tracking it on printed cash reports or weekly deposit envelopes like my previous employers 🤢

@lenjobakes Exactly. CRAZY. This costs us say 20 minutes a week and adds so many steps where mistakes can happen

Champs, can you take a look at this feature request and add your kudos and use case(?) so that Tra + team can see how many sellers would benefit. (If it applies to you, obvs!)

While I’m not currently using Square Payroll, it is something I’m considering and when I do, this would be a necessary feature.

I actually went through a demo of a multi-tip pool concept about 6 months ago, and it was pretty darn good.   Unfortunately, I think that is when the first round of cuts occurred and the crickets came out when I sent emails about it.

YES, we should be able to have automatic tip-pooling for multiple pools based on job assignment, as well as the ability to have tips assigned proportionatley at the time of sale on a check.   I have written an App for us to do this, but it's about 5 minutes a day I would rather be doing something else and have Square manage this automatically.  It would also help prevent errors when running Square payroll, but enough said for now.
