Hello,  is there a way to "lay-by" in square?

The invoices function doesn’t work as a replacement for Lay-by. Customers paying off a layby make as many payments as they like (it can sometimes be 10+ payments) and the amounts can vary each time. This is not an option in Square Invoices. 
I’ll unfortunately now be looking into other POS systems with the plan to move ASAP as Square doesn’t offer a simple feature that is essential for a retail business. Worth noting that any workarounds used now mean that every report I pull in Square is completely inaccurate - very disappointing.

Need lay-by please. The older generation refuse to use Afterpay, and still believe cash is king.

While this isn't a feature we're currently developing, we'll be sure to provide updates here if this changes in the future.

In the meantime, we recommend exploring Afterpay and the following capabilities within Square Invoices to see if they meet your needs:

• Requesting deposits
• Progress invoices (you can set up to 12 milestone payments)
• Recurring invoices
• Accepting partial payments towards an Invoice (Please note: this feature is not available for in-person payments)
• Recording a payment against an Invoice

Come on square, why is layby not being added. Not everyone wants afterpay. Get it together and sort it it's been 3 years of people asking

Desperately in need for a lay-by function coming in towards the end of the year. Fingers crossed something is in the works soon!

Would love a Layby section and also be able to print labels within the item , eg once item is created you can print within the item so it’s instant and also be able to edit stock easier .

When doing a Layby you have to use a custom amount and manually adjust inventory , it’s a huge deficit to finding stock out back and having to adjust inventory manually .  Its a huge glitch with square .
