Please bring back the ability to modify appointments...

Hey,

I'm a long time Square user for my photography business. For the last almost 10 years I've had very few issues using Square to process all of my payments and scheduling my team. Recently it feels like every new batch of updates removes some of the functionality of the calendar and dashboard. The most recent one removed my ability to modify all existing appointments, because we take payment in full at the time of booking, as we always have since we started using Square. This has really effected my business and ability to serve my customers in a timely manner. Previously if a client wanted to add or change a service on their appointment, I could easily go in, adjust the appointment, send an email/text notification with the change and then charge the card or invoice accordingly. Now none of that is possible. All of my appointments are locked to where I cannot add or modify the services. I've called Square support twice about this issue, the first time they "fixed" it for a week and now this Monday I was back to being locked out. My latest phone call I was told that this is just part of the latest update, part of Square's policy (that didn't exist until 3 weeks ago?) and they would escalate my issue with their support team. The workaround I was provided was to delete my customer's entire appointment, make sure I have all of their appointment detailed written down first (name, email, phone, address, town, zip code, and service), recreate the entire appointment and mark it as paid in the notes because the original payment is tied to the now deleted appointment. I don't understand how Square thinks this is a more streamline was of managing appointments and services. This also creates a bookkeeping headache trying to keep track of what's been paid for and what hasn't now that I have to fully delete appointments in order to modify services when requested by my customer. Has anyone found a better workaround than the one Square has provided me?

Agreed, appointments is getting worse over time, not better!

The changes to the modifiers have been really good for my business which is a beauty salon but I don't mention this to invalidate your experience, we probably have different needs. To my knowledge modifiers still function relatively the same for us but now client's have access to add modifiers while booking.

I'm curious if the issue you're having is in your modifier's settings. I had to go in there and approve where the modifiers can be seen "online", "POS", or "hidden". Since I have approved "POS", I am able to add/modify appointments from my terminal or iPad.

Hey @essentialnails , so my issue isn't actually with the modifiers for the appointments, it's my ability to modify or change an appointment in my system after a client has booked it online. We offer different photography and marketing services for real estate and my clients frequently change or add to their appointments after booking online. I used to be able to go in and update any changes they wanted to make; like adding additional services to their appointment or changing to a different service, but unfortunately Square has taken that ability away in recent updates. I've spoken to a few different people at Square now about this and they've let me know that have no plans to address this issue. I appreciate your input and advice about the modifier settings!
