Email marketing improvements

I would love to see some improvements to Square's in-house email marketing, because it is currently VERY limited. I won't make an exhaustive list here, I want to be realistic, so what is the single biggest issue I'd like to see worked on?

Automations.

Please, please improve the automations. At the very least, the workflows should be editable; preferably fully customisable. And I would like to be able to create my own automations from scratch, not just pick from an extremely limited list of pre-set templates (that, again, cannot even be edited). This is simply not enough.

There's also no viable alternative in-house, given that the only available integration is MailChimp, which is rubbish. So if Square's proprietary email marketing system cannot easily be changed, could we at least have some better options for plug-ins?? I'd love not to have to fork out huge sums to subscribe to a third-party specialist platform and then have to rebuild my mailing list, given that direct migration is ruled out by GDPR. I like having everything integrated, but the current system is simply far too limiting.
