Offboarding Team Members and Payroll

When we need to offboard a team member immediately I have to wait until the next payroll cycle before deactivating.

This is frustrating because there is a case where we need to remove the team member immediately from team communications and prevent them from messaging after offboarding.

The workaround I tried (but it doesn't work) is to assign a permission set that limits team messaging permissions first before deactivating but I found the team member still able to message the group.

Interesting idea.  While you are waiting for a decision on this, @Eggmanatx, I'll mention something I have done as a work-around.  When I've had those thankfully very rare situations where this was needed, I just ran an off-cycle payroll before my next regular payroll cycle.  That off-cycle payroll only contained the employee being terminated.  Once the payroll has been submitted, the employee can safely be deactivated without affecting their final check.  Hopefully that could work for you in the short term, too.
