So, if this request already exists, accept my apologies and merge it. But, would it be possible to NOT HAVE a default item variation, rather than have the item default to the first variation in the list?
Currently, I don’t use variations because of this default action, only. I have to create modifier lists for my items and their various sizes. Why? Because when we are in the heat of the moment on a Saturday night at 8pm and there is a line of people wrapped around the block waiting for their frozen treats, my employees go too fast. The customer orders a large but the employee doesn’t change the size and the customer pays for a small. Then when they get the small, they object saying they ordered a large and you know how that goes. We end up eating the difference.
By moving sizes to modifiers I can at least say that one option is required, and only one is allowed. It seems like a needless workaround to me, even though I’ve lived with it for 12 years now!
Oh, and I’d be perfectly fine if this were controlled by a new setting. Everyone could keep the existing default setting, or in my case change it as soon as it is available. That way, everyone wins!
Thanks.
