Multiple phone numbers for Customers?

Hi Square, is it possible to associate a second or multiple phone numbers with a Customer? Examples: many people have:

a cell and a home number,

a husband and a wife cell,

a work cell and a personal cell, etc.

 

We have a Customer who signed up for the Customer Directory with his number and makes purchases. His wife comes in and signed up with her number. Then then asked me to merge their accounts, but there's only one phone number option. And they keep forgetting which number to use for their rewards. They would like a joint rewards or shared rewards account for their two numbers.

 

So I added a custom field in the Customer Directory Settings, but custom field "Phone2" doesn't seem to work the same as the default "Phone". I can see both their phone numbers in the Customer directory, but they can't type in either number on the Square Register and see their rewards. Thanks!

Hey @PAstore - Thanks for sharing this idea! I completely understand how having multiple phone numbers for a Customer would make tracking rewards so much easier. I’ve passed your suggestion along to our product team to consider as they continue improving the Customer Directory. If anything changes our team will update this thread.

I would love to see a second phone number field in the scheduling app. Currently there is only one field for a phone number.  A second field with option (drop down box) to list cell, landline, spouses phone number, or other would be amazing!

I believe you are able to do this!

Go to your dashboard > Customer directory > Settings > Configure profiles

Once there, you will see all the visible fields typically available for collecting customer information. On the right side, click on Create Custom Field, and you'll be able to add more fields for however many additional phone numbers!
