I currently use Acuity Scheduling for my skincare and beauty studio. As I've used Square as my processor for years, I've always considered switching over to Square Appointments. My hesitations have been:
Acuity allows me to group services by category, customize intake forms, collect retainers/deposits as part of the booking process, and offers memberships where clients select a membership and are billed monthly. They are given a unique code to use during booking where they are able to receive one or multiple services based on the membership chosen. Services are automatically deducted and replenish each month.
It seems as though Square has now introduced Categories to eliminate the endless scroll, Custom Forms to address in-depth intake, the ability to collect retainers/deposits (which is HUGE), but has stopped short of Membership, which to me, is a bit absurd considering how much they do cater to the beauty and wellness industry. Looking through the threads and seeing how many years have gone by since memberships were first requested, I'm a bit nervous that this has yet to become a reality.
I've just started a 30-day trial for Square Plus and have been checking things out. Hopefully as I near the end of the trial, progress is made with introducing memberships. In the meantime, if anyone has a workaround, I'm open to suggestions!
