I AM A COMMERCIAL UNIFORM STORE!!! First who says my invoice will be paid via credit card??? For crikey sake I do NOT want a $75k invoice much less a $50k paid by card!!!! That’s $1750 in fees!!!! I’m sure you’d love it. But no. Further my GOVERNMENT AGENCIES pay by ACH or check.
Now what REALLY STINKS you changed invoice policy that we NOW PAY (!!!) to produce invoices. And you think you are entitled to throttle me???
How about turning OFF credit card option on invoices in excess of $50k???
Seriously, who even has a card that they can pay a $50k invoice with??
I Absolutely Agree Square. This is so stupid. I mean cmon figure it out! You are making your customers jump through hoops that make no sense. Just simply dont allow an estimate over 50K to be turned into an invoice. Easy! At least the estimate can be sent out and a process of making money then starts. It’s fine that the transaction limit is 50K later. That has nothing to do with how much the total estimate is for. That usually is broken up over time anyway on bids that big.
The answers provided by @Candlestore, @AshleyK and @sayra are not even close being an efficient solution to this issue nor do they encompass what seller's are even asking for. Assuming that every payment received by a business after a customer accepts an estimate will be by credit card only is also not an efficient approach to trying to provide a solution to the seller community who needs real solutions.
THE QUESTION IS NOT "how can I charge more than $50,000.00 per transaction?" THE QUESTION, OR SUBSEQUENT SUGGESTION OR FEATURE REQUEST IS, "square needs to remove the $50,000.00 limit of retail items and services being offered to customers when creating estimates so our customers can plainly and transparently see the total cost of their needs and/or desires".
Square needs to stop assuming that sellers are trying to charge more than $50,000.00 per transaction.
WE ARE NOT. We need to be able to provide estimates to our customers that reflect the total amount of products & services our customers have requested. Invoices also need to reflect these needs. The way sellers and customers come to payment arrangements has nothing to do with the arbitrary limit set forth by Square on estimates and invoices.
Sellers are very well aware of the fact that each individual transaction cannot exceed $50,000.00 and continuing to assume that we don't understand that by repeatedly providing the same responses regarding transaction limits to these suggestions is insulting. WE DO NOT WANT TRANSACTION LIMITS INCREASED. WE WANT THE ARBITRARY LIMITED DOLLAR AMOUNT REMOVED FROM ESTIMATES & INVOICES. That is all.
Square should never concern themselves with buyer and seller negotiations that ultimately determine payment arrangements agreed to by buyers and sellers. That is not the responsibility of Square. Square needs to focus on providing solutions to everyday issues facing its seller community. Sellers are your customers. Our buyers are not.
