Gifting Options with Upgrade

I hope his is super simple and can be addressed soon.

Love the gifting options, it gets my workflow a little smoother despite having to use plenty of workarounds. The only option right now for gift options on an item is "this item is a gift" and when you select it, the message text is preloaded with "hey Jack! hope you like your gift!" or something like that. 

On the other hand, when my customers purchase a gift card, everything listed there would be absolutely WONDERFUL to have on select items we deliver for our customers. We're a floral shop (and garden center and gift shop and greenhouse and nonprofit), so "add a personal message" makes more sense to our use case than "this item is a gift..." "....hope you enjoy your gift!" 

I just wish this stuff were customizable if we're going to pay for it. I added a screen shot of the gift card options that I would love to replicate on my site items. I'd want to customize though and get a physical, verifiable delivery address option.......

I agree add a personal message sounds better. 

Would also be better to have the gift message at checkout not at the item level. It gets confusing as it can only be shipped to one address but you only have the ability to add the gifting options at the item level, which means every items has gift options, not ideal.better added at check out.

You posted this awhile ago so I'm not sure if this is a new change, or if this option was always available and I never got around to testing it. 

When you enable the gift option you will see a sections that says the gift message can be customized up to 250 characters. 

When you customer orders the item and checks the box to say it is a gift they will see the aforementioned box, and will be able to type what they wish to say. Is this what you are referring to? Or are you saying that you want the default/example text that displays to the customer to be customizable?

@BernadetteA Yes, here is what I am suggesting. 

1. "This item is a gift" <-- this language doesn't suit everyone. I wish it said "Add a personal message"

2. "Hey Jack! I hope you enjoy your gift!" <-- this preloaded text displayed in the box doesn't suit everyone. I wish this display text was customizable. For my use, it would say something like "Happy Anniversary" or "Happy Birthday Mom" or "Hope you enjoy your flowers!"

I'm using my own workaround: "Card Message" modifier customers can type into.

I’ve gone ahead and changed the status of this feature request to “Reviewed”. You provided a great assessment on the potential business use/need for something like this on our platform from a seller’s perspective. As more information becomes available, a Community moderator will come in and change the status letting all of the subscribed sellers know.
