Feature request: Custom Inventory Adjustment reasons

While I am very thankful for the in-app inventory tracking, the options for adjusting seem to lack a few. Could we make that customizable to meet specific needs? In my opinion Damage, Theft, Loss are pretty much the same, however I need an option for “Store Use” or “Transfer” (out for the most part as transfer in can be considered stock received, I suppose.)

Would love this thing as we make tasting in our 5 pos and we need to track down the bottles inventory that goes in tasting process... It's a must.

 

Painfull workarround @thebloomnbucket  : 

 

Create yourself a client that would be your buisness, add item to an invoice, create yourself a "usedbybuisness" promo code/rebate to 100% off, then cash in the invoice with 0 fee and the inventory is now tracked!

It is now 2021, is there still no option to create/edit the reasons for adjusting stock?

I would also like to chime in on this.  We use Square For Retail.  We pull inventory for store use, samples, etc.  It would be very helpful to be able to adjust inventory for this.  We also are not sure if it is better to just reduce stock or ring it up with a comp.  
Does anyone have any feedback on this?

I would also like to be able to sell samples of fabric.  Our samples have a cost and they need to be ordered at the same product page as the item - a tick box to buy a sample at a preset price.

 

Its a feature that almost all our competitors use so it would be useful to have it like a modifier that people can tick and it is added to the cart without paying for a number of items.

It's true you can achieve what you're trying to do to a certain extent. Discounting 'samples' 100% doesn't work for a number reasons. reporting, averaging costs etc

 

Comp and Void does but its finicky, and especially if a business uses multiple different samples many times per week. 

 

a simple sample preset would be a fabulous option.

You can actually "sell" free items on Square Online and your Point of Sale, and, if you use Square for Retail, enter the cost of each sample, too. Here's how you can get started:

 

1. Visit Items > Site Items in your Square Online Dashboard.

2. Select an item that you're offering a sample for, and scroll down to Variations > Add / Manage Variations.

3. Add your sample as a variation and set the price - this can be $0.00 if your samples are free. You can also add a photo via the +.

4. Hit save when you're done. 

 

If you're tracking unit cost, you can add this from your dashboard via the Item tab 👍

All this feed back for adding "Store Use" and there still is no option! It would really help use out to be able to get our inventory management down to a match. Please add this option!!
