Hello Square Team & Community,
I’m a Square restaurant seller and wanted to share a feature request around external dining rewards platforms, specifically programs like Rewards Network.
What is Rewards Network?
Rewards Network is a dining rewards platform that partners with airlines, hotels, and credit card loyalty programs. Guests earn airline miles, hotel points, or card rewards when they dine at participating restaurants. These guests are often new customers who are actively searching for places to dine in order to earn rewards.
How this differs from Square Loyalty:
Square Loyalty is excellent for retention—rewarding existing customers and encouraging repeat visits. Rewards Network and similar platforms focus on customer acquisition, bringing in new diners who may not already be aware of a restaurant.
Why this would benefit Square sellers:
Helps restaurants attract new, high-intent customers
Increases first-time visits without requiring heavy discounting
Complements Square Loyalty by pairing acquisition + retention
Keeps Square competitive with other POS systems that restaurants evaluate for growth
Reduces operational friction if tracking and attribution can be supported within Square
Current challenge:
Restaurants using Square must currently manage these external programs outside of their POS, which limits adoption and creates manual tracking challenges. Even a basic supported workflow, reporting option, or future API pathway would add significant value.
I understand this functionality isn’t currently available, but I wanted to share this feedback because many independent restaurants are looking for ways to expand reach beyond their existing customer base while staying fully within the Square ecosystem.
Thank you for continuing to listen to seller feedback and for building tools that support restaurant growth.
