Reason this is needed: About a week ago, the Square Register display screens for both employers and customers suddenly went from a readable blue background to a difficult to read black and white. This change, according to responses from the Square team, was done intentionally to modernize the look and accommodate users with limited color vision. However, this change has presented viewing difficulties for both users and customers. Customers and employees have complained about the change in readability. The lack of contrast including the white writing on gray is hard to see. Further, according to comments on the forum from those with limited color vision, the very class of folks this change was supposed to help, the change has made viewing even more difficult, not less.
