Edit Pick Up Instructions on Receipt Emailed to Customer

Currently there is no way to edit the pick up instructions on the receipt emailed to the customer if they order something online and mark it for pick up. In my case, the instructions are now outdated and incorrect and my customers are receiving the wrong information because you can't edit this section anymore.

@3SArtspace Welcome to the Community.  

Right now in Square Online, the pickup instructions that show on customer receipts are pulled from your Pickup & Delivery settings in the Online Dashboard — but Square does not allow you to directly edit the pickup text in the email receipt template itself.

 

To fix outdated instructions, the only workaround is to:

1. Go to your Square Online Dashboard
2. Click Settings - Fulfillment - Pickup & Delivery
3. Select your location
4. Edit the Pickup Instructions field at the bottom.
5. Save your changes
 
This will update what future online orders display in both the order confirmation page and customer emails.
However, you cannot customize or override this section per order, and you can’t directly edit it from the Receipt settings in the standard Square Dashboard — that’s a limitation of the current system.

I think I solved this.

When Square Online order update emails are moving to Square Digital Receipts, it caused some discrepancies with the pick up instructions.

 

Even though I updated the instructions, the customers still received an outdated one that I can't find where to edit it.

 

I went to DASHBOARD>SETTINGS>ACCOUNT & SETTINGS?FULFILLMENT METHODS>ONLINE PICKUP & DELIVERY

 

Find the location you want to edit and click EDIT. 

 

On the left side there are 3 options: Pickup, Delivery and Location Details. Select Pickup

Normally under "Calculate & assign pickup times automatically" it is toggled NO and then I can input my shot message and instructions. This area no matter what I input, this message doesn't not get sent to customers via email.

I learned to toggle "Calculate & assign pickup times automatically" it is toggled YES then you scroll all the way to the bottom and you can edit ANOTHER pick up instructions area.... and this seemed to be the area that carried the outdated information.

I don't know why the Square interface is soo messy where you can edit the same information in so many different places. Shouldn't the pick up in instructions stay the same whether you toggle YES or NO for "Calculate & assign pickup times automatically"?

@TheLittlestGift that worked for me. I don't know why things are so clunky but thank you for posting a work around!

@uwoodz Yes I agree it's very clunky trying to use it sometimes. They need to clean it up and consolidate some features so we can find what we need and have things change easier.
