Discount Stacking

Please make a feature where we can prevent discount stacking!!! We are losing money and so is square!  our loss is significant so im sure square's would be also.  Do we need to appeal to someone who is concerned about Square's income from sales??

I was looking over my coffee bean sales for the week and I'm horrified. We had an epic multi-discount stack that it was basically theft. I didn't even realize this could happen until now. I would LOVE to turn OFF discount stacking. We can't have that much product walking out the door for free. 😠

Hi @BrianaJo, and hello to the others who have shared their input on how this idea would be helpful. I want to apologize for the lack of Square response here and try to make it right by giving you a current update. While this request isn't on the roadmap today, the Loyalty team is now aware of the request and will work to prioritize it in upcoming planning sessions. I am in touch with the Product Manager directly so I will let everyone know when there is any movement or news here.

Hey Square team - I can see threads about this going back to 2019. The fact that it hasn't been added as a feature is surprising. We have 60 locations across the country and double discounting is not allowed at our company. But I have no way to disable that at my point of sale? Without enforcement, the rule is just a suggestion. We need this feature ASAP. One discount per transaction limit.

@MaxwellPBC you make a good point about the duration since first raised. The discount system works really well, however the stacking prevents our use of the automatic discounts online, as this is the point where our customers tend to use discount coupons. So we can only use auto discounts at the POS (no discount coupons) and the Coupons online (no automatic discounts). Not sure if there is a reason for the this? What I do know is discount logic looks very complicated to figure out, but it would be nice to see this figured out so we can fully use both, especially after all the hard work that had been put in by the Square team so far on this.

Any update on this?  It would even be nice of you to say that it’s not possible. Again Square, you are losing money on this!!

@isabelle How do we escalate this?? This feature request has been here for years - we cannot use the discount option effectively because as businesses we lose due to discount stacking!

I feel like the solution here would be to add a flag to enable/disable "combine discounts" on each individual discount.  This way, if there was someone that wanted to allow the "stack", they could, but would solve this problem as well.  What do you think @nika ?

Now, saying that of course is easy...I don't have to program it.😎
