Delivery Option via Phone

I know this was considered at one time and I’m circling back on the subject.

 

The ability to take phone orders and then choose a delivery service such as DoorDash to complete the delivery request, would be a truly welcomed feature. 

Although we also partner with a concierge delivery person, in addition to our on-demand DoorDash partnership through Square, they aren’t always available for the number of orders that we need.

Came here to second this request.  We have customers trying to place delivery orders over the phone daily.  Honestly, I probably would not have gone with Sqaure in the first place had I known there was no way to process orders for delivery over the phone on the Sqaure POS. This is a pretty standard feature in nearly every POS in my industry, I didn't even think to check if it was an option with Square.  I would think this would be pretty easy to integrate and would help a lot of businesses out.

Please let us know when this feature is available. If pick up from Square POS is easily scheduled I can't imagine that it would be difficult to do the same for delivery. We must also be able to send a payment link from the Register to the customer so they can pay remotely.

Some of our older guests struggle with the online store and this would be welcoming for them.

Why does it seem like all the posts from people asking for the ability to enter a delivery order from a customer that calls in (like how people placed takeout orders from the invention of takeout until the internet took over), seem to get feedback from the moderators until 2025ish, and then suddenly nobody responds?

 

Why are there so many blank posts from Kristen? Was there progress being made then square decided to reverse course and made her erase her post history?

 

What is going on with this VERY basic feature that apparently is already in the app if you place an online order, but not available through the register for a phone in order? Is square aware that a sizeable percentage of the population still likes to talk to an actual person to place an order?

This feature would also be incredibly useful for "make good" or rescue orders. We also have older guests who are not able to navigate online ordering, despite how intuitive it may seem. 

 

Currently, we have to use DoorDash Merchant portal, and send a courier when we have to send a missing or corrected order to a guest. This workflow takes too much time in a fast casual setting.
