Delete Team Member

This doesn't seem to be an active request because I can't comment on the thread at https://www.sellercommunity.com/t5/Read-only-archive-Square-Payroll/How-do-you-delete-a-team-member-... which is what the subject links me to as an existing request.

It's been 6 years of discussion since this wasn't submitted.  I mean, really, why hasn't been done.  There is no legal obligation to keep these employees on the books, and having duplicates, old contractors, dead people and all show up in reports and my "inactive" employee list is ridiculous.  Please fix this.

I have some the same issues, old employess that haven't work with us in years and duplicate employees. If they are not interested in adding a delete feature, at least a merge feature or validations to prevent from adding duplicates would be useful so there isn't so much noise in the reports. Soon or later the reports will be useless because there is so much clutter from inactive team members.

This is still an issue. Inactive members still show up on the calendar options and in several other options throughout square. Inactive should mean exactly that INACTIVE. The only exception would be to 1099 at the end of the year.

Wild how they make you keep people attached to your business you don't want any ties to anymore. Family members accept payments for me. My mom now has 3 profiles, my brother has 3 profiles, friends have one or two profiles. For what Square takes to process cards plus all the subscriptions, you'd think they could make it a little easier us to manage team members. I've never seen a platform that gives administrators such limited access to their own information and settings. If tax implications are the reason for keeping people on the books, figure out a way to do some of that manually. Once a tax/fiscal year ends, there's ZERO reason a person needs to be in the system anymore if they no longer work there. There's absolutely no reason to keep those profiles there, those people are long gone sometimes. 7 years people have been begging for this feature and have gotten nowhere. Just crazy that Square just doesn't care.

I agree that there should be some way to delete old inactive team members.  If they must stay on the books for Square, make a limit like being able to delete them after a full year of being inactive.  We have some employees who are seasonal and come back after a time and it seems ridiculous to have this huge list of old employees from years in the past, especially those who have been fired and have zero chance of ever having their information needed. Why not allow them to be removed?

There should be no reason to not have control over our staffing systems.  If an employee has been inactive for a period of time, let us delete them.  It's so annoying.  And as someone mentioned before about locations, let us delete those too.  Especially when there's tutorials on workarounds to other features that are missing that lead people down these paths only to realize they can't remove something they needed to add for testing purposes and whatnot.

I saw in the replies somewhere that square said they "cannot be deleted because you will need the information at tax time." If they no longer work for us, we don't need it at all. And either way, taxes are not square's purpose. If we want to delete employees, we should be able to.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have seen in any management platform. Created a community profile just to post this. I had an employee I was testing out for a day, never paid them a penny, and never will. Now I find out I will be saddled with the baggage of having this person on my square systems for... forever?!! Disabling the employee is not remotely comparable to removing them!

I can sort out my own taxes thank you very much square. Add a feature to just delete old team members already!

@Square How many years now and we're still waiting for you to do something. PLEASE let us delete people that we have no reason to keep in your system. This is RIDICULOUS!!
